The Centre for Urban Youth Research hosted the online event titled "A Community-Based Health and Wellbeing Approach to Youth Homelessness: Policy Brief Knowledge Exchange Forum," which took place on Tuesday, February 20th, from 5:00 to 6:00 pm. This online knowledge event featured Dr. Grace Tidmarsh, a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Sport and Exercise Psychology at the University of Birmingham, UK. The event included a brief overview of the MST4Life project, encompassing lessons learned from recent public engagement efforts, including an exhibition in the UK. Dr. Tidmarsh presented a draft of the strengths-based policy brief for homelessness service provision that she is developing through her fellowship. Participants contributed their expertise, questions, and suggestions regarding the policy brief.

The Centre for Urban Youth Research hosted the second seminar of the 2023 Virtual Plenary Series on Youth Activism and Social Change, which focused on the Dynamics of Social Inclusion and Exclusion within Youth Activism. Janet Batsleer from Manchester Metropolitan University, Julia Sinclair-Palm from Carleton University, and Hava Gordon from the University of Denver served as panelists and shared their perspectives on the topic. The seminar was moderated by Stuart Poyntz from Simon Fraser University.

The first seminar of the 2023 Virtual Plenary Series on Youth Activism and Social Change, hosted by the Centre for Urban Youth Research, featured a discussion on the promises and limitations of participatory and innovative ethnographic methods for researching with young people.
